One of the unexpected blessings of moving to NYC was the opportunity to visit Italy! Until our big move, scheduling ten-plus days off together had been nearly impossible! So, we decided to take advantage of our little window of time and travel around Italy!
We had the most incredible trip-viewing the rich historical cities, meeting fantastic friends, tasting the most wonderful food, and spending time together before our new adventure in New York! Words can’t express, how thankful I am for ALL the amazing memories we made on our trip! Italy will always hold a piece of my heart…
Luckily, I can still get my Italy fix right here in New York! I recently discovered Eataly–the Gourmet Marketplace filled with all things Italian! As soon as you walk through the doors, you can smell all the wonderful aromas! Fresh produce, flowers, pasta, prosciutto, olive oil, gelato, coffee, chocolates, cookbooks and baking supplies fill this massive Italian marketplace! They even have a viewing area to watch the process of making pasta from scratch! My favorite treat? Finding Baci chocolates! My dear friend Gail introduced us to these sweet treats in Italy and each chocolate is wrapped with a love message! Basically a chocolate version of the fortune cookie!
Overall, Eataly is a great place to get a taste of Italy and even find unique gifts! I’m looking forward to coming back this summer to enjoy lunch at the Birreria restaurant located on the rooftop!
