She’s the positive morning personality on Good Morning America and has even been named the most-liked personality in morning television! People LOVE Robin Roberts! Her career has been wonderfully successful but she’s also faced personal struggles, battling breast cancer and myelodysplastic syndrome (disease of the blood and bone marrow). Her courageous spirit forged through her illnesses and she has publically allowed viewers to join her in the brave journey back to good health.
“Going forward, it’s business as usual at GMA, which means I’ll be right here every day with George, Sam, Josh and Lara. When I miss a day here or there, I’m fortunate that some very talented friends at ABC News will fill-in. When I undergo the transplant later this year, I’ll miss a chunk of time.” —Robin Roberts
Meeting Robin Roberts in person was such a blessing! Robin has an infectious personality and truly lights up the room! I was thoroughly impressed with the amount of time she spent with each and every fan. She didn’t simply autograph her book and send you on your way…she actually gave a listening ear to everyone. She wasn’t concerned in the least with the super long line or shuffling people through quickly. Most likely, her own health struggles have given her perspective most tv personalities are lacking; the ability to recognize how precious life is and to enjoy each moment!
The stories from her fans in line were incredible! Robin inspired and helped them through horrific events, depression, and even getting early screenings for breast cancer. People also brought her handmade gifts! The lady in front of me had crocheted a beautiful blanket for her!
She greeted me saying “hey you!” and after chatting for a few moments said “we are all stronger than we believe”. Powerful words of truth. May we all try to emulate Robin’s sunny disposition, optimistic outlook, and genuine approachability when facing life-altering challenges in our lives. Robin’s new book Everybody’s Got Something is on sale now!
