Everyone told me I had to have one. It was even the first thing my girlfriend Rachel recommended when I told her I was moving to New York. “You have to buy a long puffy coat” (a.k.a- a sleeping bag with sleeves).
Y’all-let’s just talk about these infamous puffy long coats deemed “essential” for NYC winters.
Basically I am vertically challenged and I’ve happily accepted this shortcoming (pun intended) opting for heels, hats or anything else that could aid in the illusion of height. However these long puffy coats are every short girl’s nightmare! Literally- you are a walking advertisement for the REI sleeping bag department!
Rebellion set in and I resisted for as long as I could…until the polar vortex weather phenomenon hit NYC! Practicality quickly set in and I began to cave!

I have the exact same problem with long coats! They do nothing for my height . . . Or lack of! Lol I adore this coat though.
