Big News!!!
Exciting times ahead!
Time to embark on another grand adventure! Big South has just accepted a new position in Houston, TX!!! We have exactly one week to relocate to the great state of Texas!
We are SO excited to seize new opportunities and explore a new city! In the meantime, we are soaking up our moments in NYC and continue to feel a tremendous sense of gratitude for our magical Manhattan experience!
While the moving whirlwind begins, I’ll be taking a little bloggin’ break but I will be posting updates along the way on Facebook & Instagram 🙂
Adventure awaits…let’s go!!
Peter Regli: Snow Monsters
Hey Y’all! Happy Thankful Thursday!
Winter is in full swing here in NYC, so it seems very fitting that artist Peter Regli created a unique art installation featuring partially melted snowmen. Located at the Flatiron Plaza, the ‘Snow Monsters’ exhibit showcases twelve snowmen (made of marble) and Regli intended the snowmen to “interrupt the routine of the commuter and provide a humorous diversion within the wintry New York landscape.”
‘Snow Monsters’ will on display from January 25-March 13, 2015 at the Flatiron Plaza.
New York Rangers vs. Carolina Hurricanes
Hello Loves! Hope everyone had a great weekend!
Yay! Fun weekends in the city! My first hockey game at Madison Square Garden!! Â Wait…who’s playing??!! New York vs. Carolina?? Who am I supposed to cheer for? #internalstruggle
Since I’m technically a New Yorker now, I decided to root for the home team and it proved to be the best decision-Rangers fans are intense! Another amazing New York night in the books!
Final score: Rangers defeated the Hurricanes 4 to 1

Snowmageddon 2015
New Yorkers across the city braced for the epic snowstorm forecasted to bring between 2-3 feet of snow! Surprisingly, even seasoned city slickers began heeding the storm warnings! Grocery store lines swelled and crowds started leaving work in droves. And then…for the first time in New York’s history-the MTA completely shut down due to snow. All roadways were closed after 11:00 PM (excluding service vehicles) and soon the “city that never sleeps” became unusually quiet!
Even though the storm brought much less snow than expected, it was fun to see the city in such a uniquely sleepy state. Plus, there was still enough snow to have a fun filled snow day!
Ride Cowboy Ride
Howdy Y’all! Happy Monday to you!
Cowboys in Manhattan? Yeehaw!!
Saturday, we took the bull by the horns and watched the Professional Bull Riders compete at Madison Square Gardens! Surprisingly, both cowboys and urbanites alike, filled the arena to cheer on the fiercest bull riders in the world!
Time to saddle up, cowboy! PBR kicked off the night with a firework show and introductions of the professional riders–numerous NC boys representing 🙂
Once the gates opened, the excitement really started with buckin’ bulls spinning around brave riders that were hanging on for dear life! Whoa! What a rush! The crowd roared when the top riders managed to stay upright and had thrill seekers thinking…”I should have been a cowboy!”

American Museum of Natural History
Hi Darling! Happy Tuesday to ya!
Did you miss me?? I’ve been fightin’ a bout of the cold/flu recently but luckily, I’m feeling much better! Thank goodness! I was getting cabin fever 🙂 Visiting the American Museum of Natural History was the perfect cure!
Dinosaurs, Mammals, Sea Creatures…oh my! Explore your way through time and discover exhibits featuring fascinating fossils, gorgeous gemstones, human origins and ocean life! My tour started in the Butterfly Conservatory exhibit (open until May 25th, 2015) observing thousands of fluttering butterflies–definitely a must see!
After moving through African Mammals, Primates, Reptiles & Amphibians…I realized that visitors really must allot for enough time at the museum! There is truly so much to see! Thankfully, I was able to see most of they exhibits and I apologize in advance for all the photos! Enjoy!
