There’s NO Business Like Show Business…Oh, how I LOVE Broadway!

A Raisin in the Sun starring the legendary Denzel Washington has been on my Broadway Show wish list and it was such a treat to have a date night uptown! It’s always fun to get all ‘dolled up’ and go see all the excitement in Times Square as you walk to the theatre. The show was held at the beautiful Ethel Barrymore theatre, which boasts a gorgeously ornate interior dating back to 1928.

It was a sold out show and the theatre was packed! Everyone was buzzing about the opportunity to see Denzel Washington and as soon as he walked on stage…the crowd welcomed him with a loud applause! The plot line hoovers over several family frustrations including integrity, money, religion, and family values. Most importantly, the storyline centers around dreams and how they can often fade away as time passes by. Denzel thrived in his role as Walter Lee Younger and Latanya Richardson Jackson stole the show as Lena Younger. She truly moved the audience and kept us on our toes throughout the show.
