Happy Monday Sunshine! Hope you had a fantastic weekend!
South Street Seaport Museum hosted a Spring Revival on Saturday for the grand re-opening of Pier 16 and the Street of Ships! Nearly two years after Hurricane Sandy wrecked havoc over the area, the extensive restoration efforts are still underway. South Street Seaport was once the busiest port in America and it’s wonderful to see the strong focus on the historical preservation of Seaport.
The Spring Revival was a fun, nautical festival with free ship tours, wood carvings, old print demonstrations, live music, and yummy treats!
We also strolled along the cobblestone streets nearby to see the Schermerhorn Row dating back to 1811, the Fulton Market established in 1821, and the often overlooked Cannon’s Walk!
